Merseyside will not let Arsenal beat them again at home

After Liverpool's 7-0 win over Manchester United a month ago, it looked as if the Merseysiders had pulled themselves together and would go on to meet the minimum target of a Champions League place. However, since the second decade of March, something strange started to happen to Jurgen Klopp's side again. In four away games against Bournemouth, Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea, the Reds scored only one point and one goal. Arsenal survived their crisis in mid-February and are now racing towards the long-awaited league title. The Gunners are currently top of the table. The advantage over pursuing Manchester City is eight points, but the Mancunians have one match in hand. Ahead of the main leg of the 30th round of the Premier League, bookmakers are undecided as to which side is the favourite with a slight tilt of the odds towards the visitors. Liverpool are having a very poor season as the vice-champion of England. It would seem that without undergoing major personnel changes, the Reds have lost the integrity of the game and stability of performances during the season. However, the Merseysiders' position in the Champions League zone is not yet critical. The Reds can reach Manchester United, Tottenham, and Newcastle in three rounds, with ten more to go before the end of the season. The difference in Liverpool's away and away performances should also be noted. Away from home, the team have picked up 13 points in 15 league games. The same number as Southampton and Leicester. The situation at Anfield is different: third in the league behind Arsenal and Manchester City with an average personal performance of more than 2.5 goals per game. Arsenal have won all too easily in the last three rounds over Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Leeds. All of the opponents were defeated by a margin of three goals. This consistency could put the Gunners' guard down, especially in light of the trip to Anfield. In the first leg of the current league, Arteta's side beat Liverpool 3-2, twice allowing their opponents to pull back in the course of the encounter. However, Arsenal have not won on the road against the Merseysiders for over a decade. The last twelve visits to Anfield ended in either defeats or draws for the home side.
