Hungarians will not lose any points against Bulgarians

In the second round of European Championship qualifying, the Hungarian team will enter the fray. Before the match in Budapest, the Hungarians split the duo of winners and losers in the Group G standings. The first category includes Serbia and Montenegro, and the second includes Bulgaria and Lithuania. The Hungarians played a friendly against Estonia on Friday, while the qualifiers sorted out their differences in head-to-head encounters. Despite a modest 1-0 win, Marco Rossi's side enjoyed an unassailable lead. Bulgaria started the home game against Montenegro as favourites, with the odds slightly in favour, but in the course of the game demonstrated their unpreparedness. As a result, Krstovic's goal in the second half inflicted a defeat on the Bulgarian side. Before the encounter in Budapest, bookmakers believe the home side to be the clear favourites, offering odds of 1.49 to win. Hungary missed out on the Qatar World Cup, finishing just fourth in a group with Albania, Poland and England. But last year's Nations League was a real breakthrough for the Hungarians. In their League A debut season, the Hungarians were not just struggling to survive in the company of Germany, England and Italy, but were looking for a sensational spot in the Final Four until the last round. Even a draw against Italy at home would have resulted in a group victory, but at the crucial moment, their opponent's class took its toll. Soboslaji and the company will be in a clear view of the result in the upcoming meeting, as the composition of the group will allow them to openly qualify for the main round of EURO 2024. The Bulgaria national side finished fourth in their group in the World Cup qualifying, trailing only Lithuania among their four opponents. Last year, the Bulgarian team took part in the League of Nations C-League, being in the same company as Georgia, Northern Macedonia and Gibraltar. Despite finishing with two wins, the Bulgarians could not come close to group winner Georgia. The last meeting between Hungary and Bulgaria took place in 2020 in the semi-final of the UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying play-offs. The Hungarians had no chance of winning in Sofia, 3-1. A similar result can be expected on Monday.
