Ambitious home team is expected to take points from championship leaders

This past round of the Championship was one of the most intriguing of the season. Almost all the teams in the top half of the table played each other. Burnley were aiming for their eleventh successive win in England's second division, but not only lost points but were also on the verge of defeat against Watford. Luton Town lost points in the last round, which they need far more than their upcoming opponents. The Hatters' position in the play-off zone is shaky enough to afford a repeat setback even against the Championship leaders. Bookmakers have identified the visitors as favourites for the meeting, offering odds of around 2.20 on their victory. Burnley are undoubtedly the strongest club in the Championship this season. Last year, the Blues were relegated from the Premier League, but immediately managed to reorganize their management to suit the new realities. Kompany's team have now created a safe margin in front of the chasers, allowing them to play without serious pressure and a high level of responsibility for the result. Bournley are 15 points away from relegation and have one match to spare. The Bundes went into the last round game as favourites, but conceded a goal from Watford midway through the first half and managed to get back into the game on 90+5 minutes. It should be noted that Burnley played much better than their opponents and could have scored more than one goal. Luton Town got a taste of the play-offs in the last round of the Championships, so even a poor start to the current championship has not spared the Hatters from the desire to repeat their success. Luton Town currently sit in fourth place in the standings, with both a four-point lead from third place and four points from relegation from the playoffs. It is worth noting that the Hatters have lost only three of their fifteen league games this season at home. In two of them, the team were ahead as the game progressed. In a head-to-head encounter in the first match, Luton Town were one of the few clubs to take points away from Burnley (1-1). At home, the Hatters will keep a strong opponent under control and, at the very least, not lose to them.
