Lyon could not score against Brest. Can they beat Troyes?
On Matchday 22 of the French championship, Troyes take on Lyon. Troyes, who were aiming to be in the middle of the Ligue 1 table, have seen their results tangibly deteriorate recently. Troyes are now dangerously close to the relegation zone - just one point from 17th place. Over the last four rounds, Troyes managed to get only one point after a 1-1 draw with Lans. During the same period, the team suffered two heavy defeats: against Lille (1-5) and Toulouse (1-4), and also lost to Marseille (0-2). Before this unfortunate series, Troyes beat Strasbourg (3-2), who are also struggling to survive. And this win is the only one since last September. Lyon, under Laurent Blanc, are trying to find a balance in their game. It is shifting from open football with more goals scored and conceded to a more closed game. So far, however, the transition has been weak. Last round, Lyon played out a 0-0 draw at home to Brest, which is hardly something to be proud of. Lyon had earlier beaten Ajaccio 2-0 away, before losing unexpectedly at home to Strasbourg 1-2. Lyon do not yet have any stability. The search will probably continue, because Lyon's current tenth place in the standings does not suit anyone. Troyes is a comfortable opponent for Lyon. Lyon have won the last ten games between these teams. And more often than not, they have scored three or more goals. In the first round of the current championship Lyon won 4-1. However, in the current position and condition of the teams, goals cam be expected from both teams.
