Fiorentina will cool down the fervour of two-time winners Salernita

Salernitana are struggling to maintain their place in Serie A. "The Seahorses have won their last two meetings and are level on points with the rest of the relegation zone. The bottom three teams currently have 22 points each. A nice bonus for the club is leaving the last place thanks to more goals scored. Nevertheless, it's obviously too early to talk about a rescue. Davide Nicola's side face Atalanta, Venice, Cagliari, Empoli and Udinese. Thanks to face-offs with survival rivals Salernitana could pull off a surprise. Admittedly, towards the end of the season the team's sickbay is overcrowded and the schedule is overstretched due to previously postponed meetings. That minimal victory over Udinese in the last meeting was very shaky. Fiorentina left the Italian Cup semi-final stage on aggregate in two games. "In the second leg, Fiorentina also lost to Juventus, but this time by a score of 2-0. That said, the Florentines looked even better, and the last series in the league shows that the team are in great shape. For example, Vincenzo Italiano's side have won the last three rounds (including the win over Napoli) and before that they shared points with Inter. Fiorentina are fighting for the European Cup zone - and quite successfully. The team is in seventh place, but has a game in hand. At the same time the gap from the fifth (Ligueuropean) place is two points, and the Champions League is only seven. With the Fiorente side facing Milan, Roma and Juventus amongst others before the end of the championship, the battle for the European place will be very interesting. In the first leg, Fiorentina thrashed the Seahorses 4-0. Back then, Vlahovic netted a double, but the Florentti international is playing very well without his former superstar. With a tight schedule and an overcrowded injury ward, the home side are unlikely to put up much of a fight against a tough opposition. For Salernitana, their fight for survival will start a little later. For now, the team will not be able to resist.
