Real are more motivated than Sevilla
On Saturday 27 May, Sevilla will take on Real Madrid at home. Both teams have already lost all tournament motivation in La Liga. The hosts have their main Europa League fixture of the season ahead of them. A win will allow the Andalusians to qualify for the Champions League. Real Madrid are formally in a battle for second place with Atletico Madrid, but it is unlikely to be a major motivation for the main club in Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti's side broke their black streak of games in midweek. Even without Vinicius, the club were able to defeat Rayo Vallecano in a tight encounter. In terms of XG, Real had an enormous advantage. It could only be realized in the end. Carlo Ancelotti fielded the main squad for this encounter. That is, a rotation is possible just in Sevilla. The coach is certainly going to experiment. At the same time, Vinicius is expected to return. His suspension has been annulled. Of the main players in Real, all of them are ready to play. There are no injuries or suspensions at the moment, except for Azar. Madrid have a logical trend in recent encounters towards a weak defence. There is simply a lack of concentration and motivation in the league. In the last nine games, only in the meeting with Getafe did they manage to keep their goal intact. Sevilla played a midweek encounter with Elche. The Andalusians also fielded their main squad for the match against a hopeless outsider. The game ended largely unexpectedly, with a 1-1 draw. Logically, the Sevilla players were unwilling to take any chances with their health. The main task for the next week is to get into the optimal form for the game with Roma in the Europa League final. In this regard, the reserve squad for the match against Real are very likely. Mendilbar did not release the main performers for an encounter with an outsider for nothing. It makes no sense for key players to play three games in a week. Sevilla have some players in the sideline. Jordana, Suso and Marcao have certain health problems. In other words, they will definitely not be on the pitch. Real are rightly favourites in the line-up, but the odds on Madrid are slightly overstated. The visitors do have some motivation in terms of reputation. It's important for Real Madrid to finish off what has not been a very successful season. In this case, it is not ruled out that the coaches will have a competition for the reserves at all. Here, too, Madrid have a big advantage. Ancelotti simply has more performers in the rotation. In their recent encounters, the top clubs have always had productive football. A continuation of the series on the exchange of goals is very likely. Out of six games, only one has failed to do so.
